Frieze New York 2020 is cancelled; Frieze Sculpture at Rockefeller Center rescheduled for this summer and then Frieze New York 2021
One of the leading contemporary art fairs in New York's spring season will not happen this year due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. Frieze New York was scheduled to take place with about 200 exhibitors at Randall’s Island Park from May 7 through 10, but organizers announced Wednesday that the fair is cancelled.
"We are grateful to everyone who has worked so hard in preparation for this year’s fair, and thank all our participating galleries, curators, partners, staff, and the New York community for their unwavering support," Frieze announced.
"We have also postponed Frieze Sculpture at Rockefeller Center, which will now open in the summer of 2020. We will update everyone with further information in the coming weeks. ... If you purchased tickets for Frieze New York, we will be in touch about refunds."
