The Palm Beach Jewelry Art, & Antique Show, celebrating its 10th Anniversary, will kick off with a high-profile Opening Night Preview Party featuring the HOPE Silent Auction on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Taking place on the show floor, every dollar raised through the Silent Auction will be used to directly fund innovative research leading to better diagnosis, new treatments, prevention and an ultimate cure for depression and its related mood and emotional disorders.
“We are delighted to again partner with HDRF and remain dedicated to helping raise crucial funds and awareness for the issue of depression,” stated Scott Diament, President and CEO of the Palm Beach Show Group. “By partnering with HDRF, the Show is able to use its platform to help bring time and attention to an issue that millions of Americans are struggling with on a daily basis.”
“It is sad but true, research shows that those who operate in the creative community have a significantly higher incidence of depression,” stated Audrey Gruss, Founder and Chairman of HDRF. “The Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show represents the ultimate creative effort – from the artists, to the works of art, to the creative presentation of the Show itself. It is such a natural tie-in for HDRF to be the Show’s charity partner. We are grateful to have this opportunity to bring awareness to this major world-wide health issue.”
The HOPE Silent Auction will offer guests at the Opening Night Preview Party a one-of-a-kind auction experience. Guests will go on a luxury treasure hunt to find the items featured in the participating exhibitors’ booths and will have the opportunity to speak with someone from each gallery before placing a bid.
The appeal of the Silent Auction will add to the excitement of the Opening Night Preview Party – already proclaimed the largest and most successful event held during Palm Beach’s “Art Season”. More than 5,000 VIPs attended last year’s opening, which attracted art collectors, celebrities and the Palm Beach elite.
