The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation announced a new licensing agreement with 1000Museums, the premier provider of archival reproductions from museums around the world. Now, with the help of print-on-demand technology, never-before-printed selections from the Foundation’s Archives will be available to admirers of Wright’s work.
The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation Archives is the most complete collection of materials related to a single artist housed under one roof anywhere in the world. Wright’s work ranged from residences designed in the Prairie style in the late 19th century, to modern works including Fallingwater, the Usonian Homes, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City in the late 50s.
“At 1000Museums, our goal is to make art accessible, and we are thrilled to be able to bring a full spectrum of work from the Frank Lloyd Foundation Archive online,” says 1000Museums founder Kirsten Söderlind. The architectural collection includes over 22,000 drawings dating from the 1880s through 1959. The first 33 selections of architectural reproductions from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation Archives are now available on 1000Museums.com, including renderings, elevations, site plans and sketches, with more added as they become available. Söderlind continues, “It is motivating to be able to review this collection of work and truly see the hand of the architect up close in these drawings.” Examples will be on display at the Frank Lloyd Wright Collection Booth No. 2663 at the New York International Gift Show beginning January 29th at the Javits Center.
The Frank Lloyd Wright reproductions are printed with archival inks on acid-free paper and approved by the Foundation. The Foundation’s Frank Lloyd Wright Collection trademark is placed on each print to confirm that the reproductions match the originals. Prints are available in a variety of sizes, framed or unframed.

Comments by Doug Volker, Director of Licensing
“The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation welcomes 1000Museums as a new addition to our licensing program. We first met Kirsten Söderlind in 2010. At the time we were impressed with several aspects of 1000Museums growing business: her dedication to making a quality product, her passion for art, her determination to produce a product that made the accessibility of product for the customer, and the retail store, a user friendly experience. At that time 1000Museums used the latest technology to accomplish several aspects of customer satisfaction. They created an online system using touch screen kiosks for in-store ordering, shipping, and delivery.”
“Söderlind continually pursued new technology to make the equipment and display space more compact in order to create a higher dollar return on sales per square foot. With 1000Museums introduction of the iPad, the continued refinement of their software, and the efficient operation they have achieved; the Foundation perceived this as a winning format for both the consumer and the retail stores. We wanted to be a partner in their ever-growing collections,” stated Volker. “We look forward to a long term relationship with 1000Museums in their effort to provide a quality artistic and decorative product that perpetuates the legacy and creative genius of Frank Lloyd Wright.”
About the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation
The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation maintains its international headquarters at Taliesin West, in Scottsdale, Arizona. As the organization founded by Wright to be the repository of his life’s work and ideas and the first to bear his name, the Foundation is engaged in a broad range of activities to preserve Wright’s legacy: provide opportunities for the public to lean about the principle ideas embodied in his work; increase public awareness of the importance of architecture to society and the individual; and stimulate a demand for excellence in architecture and design.
The Foundation owns Taliesin West (designed 1937-’59) and Taliesin (designed 1911-’59) in Wisconsin. It also owns and manages the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture as well as the vast Frank Lloyd Wright Archives at Taliesin West. The Archives is the primary resource for scholars and researchers studying Wright’s work and the principles and philosophy underlying it.
