Legendary Makers, Renowned Collections and Historic Pieces from some of the Great Houses of Britain will highlight the 25th Anniversary of The International Show, October 25-31, 2013, at The Park Avenue Armory, Park Avenue at 67th Street, New York, NY.
The sumptuous interiors of Highclere Castle, the real-life setting of Downton Abbey, have riveted and inspired fans of the wildly popular aristo-soap for the last four seasons, creating a resurgence of interest in historical styles. Historic pieces from legendary makers and important collections from some of the great homes and castles of Great Britain, not only offer a living history but between them, they are repositories for some of the most important art and antique collections in the world, from works by Gainsborough and Van Dyck, to Meissen, Chippendale and Worcester.
Each house, an architectural masterpiece, embodies a history of Britain in and of themselves. The fair has been temporary home to pieces from Beningbrough Hall, Browsholme Hall and Castleweilan Castle; Chatsworth, Elveston Castle and Harewood House; Castle Howard, Kiveton and Nostell Priory, Leeds Castle, Rous Lench Court, Ragley Hall, Somerely House, Stoneleigh Abbey, and Wimpole Hall. This year's fair will feature some spectacular pieces, shown below, from some of Britain's Greatest (and Grandest) Houses.

The International Show
25 years after Brian and Anna Haughton came to New York with the groundbreaking International Antique Dealers Show, their flagship show continues to set the standard in America. With the inception of the "International Show" the Haughtons introduced the European concept of "vetting" in America and also helped to establish New York as part of a larger international fair circuit. The show today is an important part of the cultural, social and philanthropic landscape of New York and remains one of the world's most prestigious and iconic art and antique events. Sixty-seven of the world’s top dealers converge at the Park Avenue Armory for the dynamic event that collectors, museum curators, interior designers and art lovers anticipate all year long. Extraordinary attention to detail, exceptional specialist dealers, breathtaking variety and exacting standards have established the International Show as the top American showcase of its kind and an essential destination for museum-quality pieces.
