This September, Charlton Hall Auctioneers will offer the impressive estate of prominent Memphis art dealer, Lisa Kurts, along with other notable estates and museum de-accessions.  Art spanning six centuries will be featured during this sale, giving bidders a wide range of options to consider.

The first day of Charlton Hall’s September auction, Friday the 6th, will feature fine art.  In addition to photography archives and an art library, pieces from the Kurts estate consist of a significant collection of photographs including works by William Christenberry, William Eggleston and Michael Eastman as well as a large collection of drawings by Carroll Cloar and other important contemporary artists. 

Friday’s sale will also include works by Frederick Frieseke, Alex Katz, Alice Neel, Robert Rauschenberg and iconic Southern artists including Alfred Hutty, Henry Ossawa Tanner, Ida Kohlmeyer, Elizabeth O’Neill Verner, and J. Bardin.

Featuring works of oil, watercolor, drawings, bronzes, sculptures, lithographs and photographs, Friday September 6th will be sure to pique any art collector’s curiosity.
