Record Setting Goldin Auctions Babe Ruth 100th Anniversary Auction Nets $5.3 Million in Sales From Over 13,000 Bids

When the Goldin Auctions Babe Ruth 100th Anniversary Auction, closed this weekend, to nobody's surprise, the player who set more records than anyone in baseball history, also set numerous records for Goldin Auctions. Collectors spent $5.3 million and placed more than 13,000 bids on 1,300 lots of memorabilia in the live auction on July 12 in Baltimore and the online auction which closed in the early morning hours on July 19, at www.GoldinAuctions.com.

"It has been an honor to host this auction in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Babe Ruth's MLB debut and we could not be more pleased with how it went for consigners, bidders, the industry and our team," explained Ken Goldin Founder of Goldin Auctions. The online auction, which offered more than 1,000 lots including 200 Ruth items closed with a bidding frenzy on Saturday morning. Here are some of the highlights of Session 2:
