Leading American Art dealers on the Upper East Side will open their doors for the Just Off Madison Winter Gallery Walk, on Wednesday, December 1, from 4–8pm. Coinciding with the American art auctions at Sotheby’s and Christie’s, Just Off Madison gives American art enthusiasts a chance to discover even more museum quality pieces while taking a leisurely stroll down Madison Avenue. The participating galleries offer a rich and diverse selection of American paintings, sculptures, and works on paper, from the nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century.
Betty Krulik of Betty Krulik Fine Art coordinated this special viewing so that collectors, curators, and others with a strong interest in American art can, between the auctions, easily access and enjoy fresh inventory at private galleries. Krulik explains, "This season the Just off Madison dealers will highlight museum quality treasures."
Among the artworks on view will be first rate examples by George Bellows, Theresa Bernstein, Charles Biederman, Oscar Bluemner, Mary Cassatt, Sanford Robinson Gifford, Lilian Westcott Hale, Walt Kuhn, Willard L. Metcalf, Fairfield Porter, Joseph Stella and Bessie Potter Vonnoh. To obtain images, please contact amg@hawthornefineart.com.
All participating galleries are located along East 69th through 79th Streets between Fifth and Park Avenues and include Avery Galleries, Betty Krulik Fine Art, Conner-Rosenkranz, Debra Force Fine Art, Franklin Riehlman Fine Art, Hawthorne Fine Art, Jonathan Boos, Kraushaar Galleries, Lois Wagner Fine Arts, James Reinish & Associates, Menconi & Schoelkopf Fine Art, and Meredith Ward Fine Art.
