Hôtel des Ventes de Monte-Carlo: Watches & Vintage Handbags

The Hôtel des Ventes de Monte-Carlo auction house in Monaco is hosting two notable auctions on the Invaluable platform at the end of July.  On July 20, the Watches sale includes a variety of high end timepieces including a Patek Philippe wristwatch from 1991 and a special edition 2008 Luminor Panerai, both expected to realize €50,000 - €70,000, as well as a Patek Philippe Calatrava model circa 1940 estimated at €5,000 - €7,000.  The second auction, featuring Vintage Handbags, is being held on July 22. Notable lots include a Louis Vuitton Trunk priced at €3,000 - €4,000 and a Hermes Crocodile Birkin bag valued at €28,000 - €35,000.

Lyon & Turnbull: Interiors, the Summer Sale

Auction house Lyon & Turnbull, based in Edinburgh, UK, will be hosting a two-day Summer Interiors sale on July 22 and 23.  Highlights of the sale include the watercolor The Bathers by Frank McKelvey (1895-1974) which is estimated to sell for £1,200 - £1,800, a 20th century crystal chandelier expected to realize £500 - £700 and a pair of upholstered stained pine benches valued at £2,500 - £3,500.

Artcurial – Briest – Poulain – F. Tajan: Fine Jewellery

The two-day Fine Jewellery sale by Artcurial - Briest – Poulain – F. Tajan will be held on the Invaluable platform on July 23 and 24.  Of the 350 lots being offered at auction, especially noteworthy items include a diamond and platinum ring expected to realize €80,000 - €100,000, a diamond, citrine, pearl, sapphire and 18K yellow gold necklace and ear pendant set by Bulgari estimated at €28,000 - €30,000 and  an 18K yellow gold goblet valued at €2,000 - €3,000.

Garth’s Auctioneers & Appraisers: Asian Art

Ohio-based Garth’s Auctioneers & Appraisers is holding an Asian Art sale on July 24 with online bidding available through Invaluable.  With nearly 250 lots being offered, highlights of the sale include a scroll painting by Xu Beihong (1895-1953) expected to realize $50,000 - $80,000, a gilt bronze Bodhisattva estimated at $25,000 - $35,000 and a 19th century white jade covered censer expected to realize $10,000 - $18,000.

Osenat: Classic Boats

French auction house Osenat will host a Classic Boats auction on July 26 with online bidding available on the Invaluable platform.  Noteworthy lots from the sale include an Italian 1967 Riva Ariston valued at €60,000 - €70,000, a 1958 Riva Junior estimated at €30,000 - €35,000 and a 1963 Chris Craft Utility boat expected to realize €9,000 - €12,000.

Coeur d’Alene Art Auction:  The 2014 Coeur d’Alene Art Auction

Invaluable will be offering online bidding on The 2014 Coeur d’Alene Art Auction on July 26.  Over 300 lots will be offered at auction and noteworthy items include Trail of the Iron Horse by Charles M. Russell (1864-1926), oil painting The Story of Where the Sun Goes by Frederic Remington (1861-1909) and A Water Pocket, Northern Arizona by Thomas Moran (1837-1926), all expected to realize $1,500,000 - $2,500,000. Also featured in the auction is the painting Too Many Snows by Howard Terpning (b. 1927) which is estimated at $400,000 - $600,000 and Boulevard de Capucine painted by Edouard Cortes (1882-1969), valued at $20,000 - $30,000.

Tajan: Contemporary Art & Design

Parisian auction house Tajan will host a Contemporary Art & Design auction on July 29 with online bidding available through Invaluable.  Highlights from the sale include the oil on canvas Nuit de la Saint-Jean by Maria Helena Vieira da Silva (1908 – 1992) expected to realize €300,000 - €500,000, an ink wash on paper entitled San Titres by Walasse Ting (1929-2010) valued at €10,000 - €15,000, as well as Nuage Sur la Mer painted by Miquel Barceló (b. 1957) which is estimated at €80,000 - €120,000.

Guyette & Deeter: Decoys

Guyette & Deeter’s two-day Decoys auction will take place on July 29 and 30 on the Invaluable platform.  Of the hundreds of decoys for sale, one of the most noteworthy lots is a rare “dust jacket” style Black Bellied Plover by Elmer Crowell expected to realize $125,000 - $150,000. Other noteworthy items include a Pinch Breasted Pintail Drake by the Ward Brothers and a Presentation Black Duck by Shang Wheeler, both estimated at $65,000 - $85,000.

Eldred’s: Americana & Paintings

Eldred’s auction house, located in East Dennis, MA, will be hosting a three-day auction of Americana & Paintings from July 30-August 1, with online bidding available through Invaluable.  Highlights from the sale include an oil painting of a still life of peonies and Asian porcelain by William McGregor Paxton (1869-1941) estimated at $50,000 - $70,000, the oil painting View of Niagara by Albert Biderstadt (1830-1902) which is expected to realize $30,000 - $50,000, watercolor Narragansett Bay by William Trost Richards (1833-1905) which is estimated at $7,000 - $9,000, a Fine Antique American Tall-case Clock by Isaac Brokaw which is expected to realize $8,000 - $12,000 and a pair of English Flintock travel pistols from the 18th century estimated at $800 - $1,200.

Swann Auction Galleries: Vintage Posters

On August 6, Swann Auction Galleries will be hosting a Vintage Posters sale with online bidding available through Invaluable.  Featured lots include a “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster from 1939 estimated at $12,000 - $18,000, a poster by H.R. Hopps (1869-1937) titled Destroy this Mad Brute/Enlist expected to realize $15,000 - $20,000 and an Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) poster titled Job estimated at $20,000 - $30,000.

Addison & Sarova Auctioneers: Fine Books & Illustrations

Addison & Sarova Auctioneers, located in Macon, GA are holding a Fine Books & Illustrations auction on the Invaluable platform on August 23, 2014.  Noteworthy lots include a Collection of Histories from the Second Shakespeare Folio from 1632 which are expected to realize $12,000 - $18,000, a rare copy of the first illustrated Aldine edition of Dante which is expected to realize $4,000 - $7,000 and a collection of Christmas Books by Charles Dickens, including the first issue of A Christmas Carol, which is estimated at $4,000 - $6,000.
