Doyle to Auction Old Master Paintings, Russian Works of Art, and English & Continental Silver on May 19

On Wednesday, May 19 at 10am, Doyle will hold an auction showcasing three collecting categories: Old Master & 19th Century Paintings & Drawings, Russian Works of Art, and English & Continental Silver.
The public is invited to the exhibition on view May 15-17 at Doyle, located at 175 East 87th Street in New York. The catalogue may be viewed online at DOYLE.com.
Comprising 140 lots, the Old Master section of the sale offers a wide range of works including landscapes, still lifes, portraits and religious subjects by European artists from the Renaissance through the 19th century. Highlights include two works depicting dwarfs by Italian artist Enrico Albrici (1714-1775) from the Collection of Ambassador and Mrs. Alfred Hoffman, North Palm Beach, Florida (est. each $10,000-20,000).
The Russian Works of Art section presents over 100 lots and features a range of property dating from the 15th century until the Russian Revolution in 1917. Offerings include Fabergé, silver and vertu, porcelain, glass, and sculpture from prominent estates and distinguished collections.
The section devoted to English & Continental Silver showcases over 90 lots spanning the 18th through 20th centuries featuring fine examples of English, French and Italian silver by prominent makers.
