This spring marks the landmark 90th year of continuous publication for The Magazine ANTIQUES.
The May/June 2012 issue will celebrate the 90th anniversary of The Magazine ANTIQUES, a publication devoted to the universal passion for antiques and fine art. The issue will feature a variety of perspectives on the past, present, and future of the fields we cover and includes, among other things, three landmark collections of painting and decorative arts by widely admired collectors. Institutions such as the Barnes Foundation and the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens will also be prominently shown.
A brief history: Established in Boston in 1922, The Magazine ANTIQUES is the nation’s largest circulation publication focused on fine art and antiques. The magazine is published six times per year out of offices in New York City. In addition to articles with meticulous scholarship on painting and the decorative arts, the magazine regularly features the homes of collectors who live beautifully with this material. With handsome photography and intelligent writing the magazine celebrates our American heritage at the same time that it draws connections between that heritage and our European roots.
