RICHMOND HILL, Ontario – 888 Auctions is proud to announce its June auction by featuring a fine collection of Asian arts and antiques with its Asian Antiques & Fine Art sale Thursday, June 21st, 2012.

The 448-lot auction features several unique items headlined by a rare 19th/20th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty Imperial Pendulum Clock at Lot 442. This genuine antique French Gilt-Bronze and Champlevé Enamel Clock, Circa 1900 is decorated in turquoise champlevé enamel which was typical of pieces exported during the late Qing Dynasty. It was in the possession of a private collector with membership in the NAWCC (National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc.). A very similar clock can be seen in the Imperial Clock Collection of the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City of Beijing. The Imperial Pendulum Clock is expected to surpass its high estimate of $10,000.

Another item decorated in cloisonné enamelling can be found at Lot 389: An 18th Century Qianlong Period Chinese Cloisonné Censer. Decorated with formalized lotus sprays and supported on ruyi-head shaped tripod feet, the 200 year old censer bears a six-character Qianlong Mark and is estimated $4,000-6,000.

From the collection of Natural History lots, collectors will be delighted to find a marvellously carved Early 20th Century Chinese Ivory Figural Group of Beauties in openwork relief at Lot 422. Standing 24” tall, this ivory carved figure commands a high estimate of $15,000.

Collectors of Korean Buddhist statues may be delighted to find the inclusion of Lot 397: A rare Korean Chosun Dynasty Gilt Gold Buddhist Figure. This famous portrayal of the Bodhisattva Maitreya in a thoughtful and contemplative pose is expected to exceed its high estimate of $15,000.

An Asian Antiques auction would not be complete without the inclusion of quality porcelains. Lot 325 headlines the rich and diverse collection of lots and stands nearly 35” tall. The Qing Period Hexagonal Tea Dust Glazed Porcelain Vase features moulded animal heads and handles in the form of a phoenix. It carries a high estimate of $60,000.
