Gallery One, a cooperative of mid-career artists working in a wide variety of media and styles from representational to abstract, including painting, sculpture and works on paper, will exhibit at the LaGrua Center, 32 Water Street in Stonington, from January 6 through February 28, with an opening reception on Friday, January 9 from 5-7 pm (snow date Friday, January 16).
Gallery One’s director, Judith Barbour Osborne, emphasizes, “Being a peripatetic 'gallery' has the advantage of being able to share the extraordinary work of our member artists all along the Southeastern Connecticut Shoreline. The LaGrua Center is the furthest east we have shown to date, with New Haven being the furthest west.”
Ten of Gallery One’s artists are participating in the exhibition including David Brown, Old Saybrook; Ashby Carlisle, Old Lyme; Catherine Christiano, Old Lyme; Bette Ellsworth, Madison; Mary Fussell, Clinton; Gray Jacobik, Deep River; Judith Barbour Osborne, Ivoryton; T. Willie Raney, Ivoryton; Victoria Sivigny, Meriden; and Jill Vaughn, Ivoryton.
The Artists of Gallery One exhibit in various locations along the Connecticut shoreline. This coming April they will be returning to the Guilford Art Center. The Artists of Gallery One will be showing at the Mystic Arts Center September 25 through November 7 (in the Leibig Gallery).
