Rahul Alexander, Jonathan Brand, Adam Brent, Ryan Roa and Travis LeRoy Southworth - members of BroLab in front of their project, DeadLift.

Join the Mattatuck Museum for the opening reception of an exciting sculptural installation by the Brooklyn based artist collaborative, BroLab on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

The collective BroLab was established in 2009 by five artists, Rahul Alexander, Jonathan Brand, Adam Brent, Ryan Roa and Travis LeRoy Southworth, who built a practice bridging art and design principles. As a group they create social interventions in the public sphere that range from endurance performances to interactive functional sculptures, such as Bevel & Rub, that explore themes of mobility and public spaces. The group puts together objects with power tools, computer programs, machines and sweat. By building objects for the public to physically interact with, BroLab connects art with life.

The Mattatuck Museum is offering community programs in conjunction with the installation. For details on these and other events, visit www.MattatuckMuseum.org/events. The opening reception is free; RSVP is requested. Please register in advance at www.MattatuckMuseum.org or by calling (203) 753-0381, ext. 130. Join the museum to immediately qualify for member benefits.
