Lawrence Fine Art will showcase works by artists Arthur Pinajian, Rolph Scarlett and Harriette Joffe and work by sculptor Jerry Ehrlich at ArtHamptons beginning July 11.
"This is our inaugural appearance at ArtHamptons and we will be putting our best foot forward with strong works by all these artists," said Gallery Director Howard Shapiro.
"Lost Master" Arthur Pinajian has been the subject of extraordinary critical and media attention since his work was saved from the Bellport, LI town dump, conserved and exhibited. "We will be bringing strong mid-century abstractions any one of which would earn him a place at the table with other mid-century greats," said Shapiro.
Joffe is the subject of a current exhibition at Lawrence Fine Art entitled "Harriette Joffe: RiverJazz and All That Stuff." "Joffe's current work is a distillation of themes she has pursued throughout her career," said Shapiro. "It is some of her best."
The Scarlett works come from an East Hampton estate well-known for its collection of works by the artist. "Scarlett is still underrated, but that is changing rapidly," said Shapiro.
Finally, the gallery will highlight sculpture by contemporary sculptor Jerold Ehrlich. "I don't know how he does it," said Shapiro, "but Jerry's work is industrial and sensual at the same time. We are honored to be showing his work."
"The Hamptons are fast becoming an art mecca," said Shapiro. "We cater to serious art enthusiasts looking for quality work."
