NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Pedro Vargas in Opening the Window. The exhibition opens March 26 and runs through April 16, 2019 with an opening reception on Thursday, March 28 from 6-8 pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

About the Artist

The paintings of Pedro Vargas represent fantastic machines, mutants and mechanical humanoids.

For Vargas, machines composed of mechanical parts are the main elements in his work, for which he has developed a new language called "Maquinismo."

The works titled Time Machine and Mutant Machine represent a new type of art that moves beyond the anthropocentric theme in the history of art. In these paintings, Vargas creates a pictorial event, free of all established movements that have preceded him.

About the Exhibition

Opening the Window is a group exhibition that explores that nuances between abstract and figurative works. Featuring eleven artists, the exhibition incorporates works in different media, showcasing landscapes, and well as works that alter the conventional framing of figurative objects. In this way, the exhibition includes purely abstract works that nevertheless demonstrate a fidelity to spatial perception and the communication of meaning.
