The Downtown Fair, a new contemporary art fair that will debut May 8-11, 2014, at the 69th Regiment Armory in New York City,  launched on Wednesday, October 9, with a party held at the Nancy Hoffman Gallery.  Hoffman, one of the Downtown Fair’s exhibition committee members, graciously donated the space for the launch party.

Approximately 120 guests sipped wine and sampled coffee-infused chocolate chip cookies while listening to Fair Director Lisa Hatchadoorian talk about this exciting new entry into New York City’s dynamic art fair scene.  Guests learned that the fair will provide a unique opportunity for visitors to explore some of today’s most exciting established and new galleries from all around the globe.

Downtown Fair’s inaugural edition will be held in New York City, May 8-11, 2014, at the 69th Regiment Armory at Lexington Avenue between 25th-26th Streets. It will feature approximately 50 national and international galleries selected by its committee comprised of Nancy Hoffman of Nancy Hoffman Gallery (NY), Yossi Milo of Yossi Milo Gallery (NY) and William Shearburn of William Shearburn Gallery (St. Louis).  Downtown Fair’s Opening Reception will be on Thursday, May 8 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. with the fair continuing through Sunday, May 11.
