"Larry Wolhandler:  All About the Process" will open at Lawrence Fine Art, East Hampton, NY on Thursday, July 25 with an opening reception Saturday, July 27, 5-7 pm.  The show continues to August 24.

Conceptual artist Wolhandler uses house paint and pencil to create messy but luminous squares which do not contain, but rather radiate, their color outward. Wolhandler has shown frequently in France but this is his first solo show in the U.S.

"One critic has called Wolhandler's squares 'windows into the soul,' but we see something even more subtle at work:  an artist commenting--in a beautiful way--on the process of creating a painting," said Gallery Director Howard Shapiro. "His work is reminiscent of Cy Twombley."

"All About the Process" is one of  series of exhibitions and gallery talks produced by Lawrence Fine Art this summer to celebrate art in the Hamptons.
