Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi and Marsilio Launch "Americans in Florence" - The first illustrated catalogue as an ebook in Italy

Over 40,000 people have visited the exhibition Americans in Florence. Sargent and the American Impressionists since it opened to the public on 3 March 2012.  On view at the Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, until 15 July 2012, Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi and the publisher Marsilio are marking the success of the show with the launch of the first illustrated exhibition catalogue as an ebook in Italy.

Available in the Ibookstore Apple, the ebook Americans in Florence is a new way to experience the exhibition on an iPad.

This ebook enables the reader to explore interactively the intense relationship American Impressionist painters had with Italy, and with Florence in particular, between the mid 19thand early 20thcenturies, and access the five scholarly and enlightening essays, 180 colour and black & white illustrations, 41 biographies of the artists and their exhibited works.

The ebook is on special offer until 31 May 2012 at the launch price of €0.99, after which the price will be €9.99.
