Lawrence Fine Art will open "Steve Joester:  Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll" at its East Hampton Gallery Thursday, August 22 with a reception from 5-9 pm.  The show will continue until September 24th.   British-born rock-and-roll photographer Joester photographed the iconic images of such superstars as Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones, Andy Warhol, Debbie Harry, Neil Young and Sting during the 70s and 80s.  He is now reinterpretating these images using mixed media, silk screen and other materials,. He has shown extensively both in the U.S. and in Europe.

"Pop artists focus on iconic images such as these for a reason," said Gallery Director Howard Shapiro.  "They explore the relationship between artistic expression and pop and celebrity culture."

"Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll" will conclude the Gallery's summer exhibition series, which has seen the gallery present exhibitions and gallery talks by leading artists working in a variety of media.
