"Fabulous Abstraction" at Lawrence Fine Art

Lawrence Fine Art will present a comprehnsive survey of American abstraction from the 1920s until today and opening on October 1, 2020. The show will be available for viewing by appointment or on Artsy.
The exhibition will examine types of abstraction, including early non-objective abstraction, biomorphic abstraction, early drip abstraction, geometric abstraction, abstract expressionism and ending up with abstraction by contemporary artists. The exhibition will feature art by Rolph Scarlett, Melville Price, Amaranth Ehrenhalt, Vivian Springford, Howard Kanovitz, William Freed, Robert S. Neuman, Stephen Pace, Judith Lindbloom, Gandy Brodie, Vivian Springford, Fred Mitchell and contemporary artists Stan Brodsky, Harriette Joffe, Janet Mait and Geoffrey Dorfman.
"This is a real best of the best show," said Gallery Director Howard Shapiro. "Abstraction has always been a specialty of our gallery, and the story of art over the past century has really been the story of the development of abstraction in different directions, so I am particularly proud to be able to mount a survey like this."
