For the past 40 years, Dr. James Harken has been collecting original fine art, bronzes and antiques from some of the most renowned artists the world has ever known. It’s a collection that has been gathered from his pure passion for art — a collection, that today, numbers in excess of 3,000 works spanning Old Masters through his extensive collection of Art from the American West. And now, it is with great excitement, this release announces that the first 100 select works of fine Western American art and an extensive collection works by Edward H. Bohlin, is finally being released for sale to the public.

A powerful force and advocate for the arts in his community, Dr. Harken founded the Spokane Valley Arts Council and his tireless in his mission to promote upcoming artists continues today.

This initial offering includes several important works on canvas and bronzes, from both listed, CAA and Taos Society artists including E.I Couse, Leon Gaspard, Paul Dyck, E.L. Blumenschein, Fredrick Remington, Randall Davey, William Penhallow Henderson, Fred Oldfield, Ace Powell, and E.S. Paxson to name just a few. These are all signed original works that have been privately held for many years. Examples of the works being currently offered are “Untitled,” by E.I. Couse, a nocturnal watercolor for $110,000, “San Geronimo Days,” an oil on board by Leon Gaspard also for $110,000 and “Untitled,” and oil on canvas by E.L Blumenschein for $42,000.

Also being offered is an extensive collection of original works in sterling, gold and gems by Edward H. Bohlin. This incredible collection includes fifteen (15) stunning engraved and gem laden buckle set plus money clips, collar tips and lady’s accessories. Perhaps the top piece in this special collection is a fully engraved sterling silver with 14k gold overlay buckle set with 11 full cut diamonds which is being offered for $22,500.
