The 2013 AVENUE Antiques, Art & Design at The Armory show (October 9 - 13) will kick off the Park Avenue Armory's Fall fair season in high style with over 50 antiques and art dealers from across the globe showcasing their finest inventory.  The show opens with a Private Preview by Invitation on the night of Wednesday, October 9 and is Open to the Public Thursday, October 10 - Sunday, October 13.

With something for connoisseurs and neophytes alike, the show offers a diverse range of disciplines, eras and price points. This year's show is notable for an increase in fine furniture offerings, including French, English, Italian and Continental furnishings from the 17th century through Art Deco and Mid Century Modern from dealers such as Calderwood Gallery, Philip Colleck, Ltd., Michael Pashby Antiques, Gary Rubinstein Antiques and more. Their pieces can be seen alongside Fine Art from 19th Century to Modern and Contemporary; Vintage and Contemporary Photography; Antique, Estate and Fine Jewelry; Fine Silver; Art Deco Objet; Art Glass; Antique Enamels; Russian Antiquities; Antique English and Meissen Porcelain; Contemporary Ceramics; Sculpture; Japanese Block Prints and Textiles; Rugs and Tapestries and much more.

A star-studded Interior Design Committee chaired by Ellie Cullman will come together to support this much loved "shopping show."  As Bunny Williams remarked, "A show is really interesting when you can find all different periods, styles, paintings, jewelry ..."

Again this year, renowned designers will curate their favorite picks, which will be highlighted at the show and in a Pinterest promotion.  Design expert, author and TODAY Show contributor Susanna Salk will moderate a "Best in Show" panel discussion with top decorators sharing details about their favorite finds. Other not-to-be-missed programming includes "Day of Design"presented by the New York School of Interior Design, featuring a full day of lectures by leading members of the design community, and British country house expert Curt DiCamillo's presentation on "The Real Downton Abbey (*)."

A spectacular addition to this year's show is an exhibition of select photographs from Chilean photographer Roberto Edwards' groundbreaking Cuerpos Pintados project, a confluence of painting, performance art, documentation and photography, which is on loan from Holden Luntz Gallery.  Beginning in 1981, Edwards invited artists to work in non-toxic pigments and use the human boy as the medium for their creations.  The work, spanning two decades, was featured in a book and exhibition that traveled to 32 major museums in the Americas and Europe with a sole New York stop at the Museum of Natural History in 1999-2000. The October 2013 AVENUE Show marks the first time the images will appear in New York City outside a museum setting.

This year also marks an inaugural partnership with Jaguar of Manhattan, which will showcase an elegant new model in the Show Café, and the second year partnering with the New York School of Interior Design.
