The Board of Directors of the International Sculpture Center (ISC), the world’s leading international organization devoted to the creation and understanding of sculpture, announces the 18th annual Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture competition.
Each year, the ISC offers the Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture award competition to its member colleges and universities. The award, established in 1994, was created to recognize young sculptors and encourage their continued commitment to the field of sculpture. Through this initiative, the ISC hopes to encourage students and participating institutions to use the ISC’s many resources to assist students and faculty with their professional development. The program also spotlights participating universities, colleges & art schools and their Undergraduate & Graduate Sculpture Programs.
Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award recipients receive numerous benefits including, but not limited to: participation in the Fall/Winter 2012/2013 Exhibition at Grounds For Sculpture (Hamilton, NJ); publication of photograph(s) of the artist’s award-wining work and accompanying artist statement in Sculpture magazine and on www.sculpture.org; a chance to win a Residency in Switzerland to study with world-renowned sculptor Heinz Aeschlimann; a one-year ISC membership, including a subscription to Sculpture magazine; an opportunity to participate in the traveling Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Awards exhibition, hosted by an esteemed art organization (location TBD); and an award certificate and recognition letter from the ISC, signed by the Executive Director and Chair of the ISC Board of Trustees.
