(New York – NY) Art Miami LLC has announced plans to host the first Florida International Fine Art Fair (FIFAF) from February 3 – 13, 2011, in the burgeoning, Midtown Miami Arts District. FIFAF is a “new generation” fair that is lining up to be the single most impressive destination fair for fine art in all of America.
FIFAF will present the most prestigious international fine and decorative art dealers offering rare European and American paintings, contemporary & modern art, sculpture, photography, high-style European furniture, lighting, couture and estate jewelry, and decorative arts from the 18th to the 20th centuries, with an emphasis on early to mid 20th century design.
FIFAF will be staged in a newly designed 100,000 square foot pavilion where Art Miami attracted over 35,000 attendees during Art Week in December 2009. The ten-day fair will commence on Thursday, February 3rd with a glittering Opening Night Vernissage preview party benefiting a local charity from 7:30 - 10:30 p.m.
Spearheading this groundbreaking introduction is industry leader, Nick Korniloff, Partner and Show Director of Art Miami LLC. Korniloff is the former VP of DMG World Media’s International Fine Art Exposition which produced Art Palmbeach and the renowned Palm Beach: America’s International Fine Art & Antique Fair, which is currently known as The American International Fine Art Fair.
Art Miami’s decision to launch FIFAF in Miami is based upon Korniloff’s in-depth knowledge of the fine art market, his experience producing the Palm Beach and Miami art fairs, and his success in connecting art dealers with new, affluent international collectors.
“With the continued expansion of Miami as a hub for the art world and the gateway to Latin America, I am confident that launching FIFAF in Miami will fill a gap in the market, offering improved opportunities for dealers and fine art collectors alike. Our goal is to turn FIFAF into the important destination for fine art dealers and collectors on a level similar to Maastricht,” said Korniloff.
“Unlike any other Florida destination, including Palm Beach, Miami has become an established destination in the global art community providing an enormous opportunity for the growing base of Latin American collectors. In 2009, the greater Miami area attracted over 12 million domestic and international travelers and an average of 230,769 visitors per week. The urban setting of downtown Miami, combined with its prominent business and resort community, offers the necessary support systems to host a fair like FIFAF,” Korniloff continued.
Art Miami LLC has built successful relationships with the local art market, institutions, and the Miami community overall. With an established reputation in the area, the show producers are certain that the entire international arts community will appreciate the launch of a sophisticated, unparalleled showcase of fine art in this vibrant setting. Over the next year, Art Miami LLC will work to build a prestigious catalog of exhibitors and align with compelling and relevant industry partners to bring a sensational show to Miami.
