PHOTO INDEPENDENT Presents A Special Exhibition, Scott Caan: Photographs

PHOTO INDEPENDENT will present a special exhibition by actor, writer, director and photographer Scott Caan from May 1-3, at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood. Caan has also been named the Guest of Honor at PHOTO INDEPENDENT’s Opening Night Preview, benefitting the Colburn School.
More than 30 works will be on view at the upcoming show. Over the past decade, Scott Caan has quietly garnered a reputation as an outstanding photographer. Caan developed a passion for photography in 2003 while directing his first film “Dallas 362”. Inspired and mentored by cinematographer Phil Parmet, Scott Caan has grown into a photographer to be noticed.
His journalistic style of photography is intimate and evocative, unapologetic and compassionate. His first book “Scott Caan Photographs, Vol. 1 was published in 2009, followed by “Vanity – Photographs by Scott Caan” in 2014.
On Sunday, May 3 at 12pm, Scott Caan will participate in an artist talk with Debra Weiss. Part of PHOTO INDEPENDENT’s lecture series, Dialogue: Image Making In The Modern World All Dialogues will be open to photographers and the general public, and attendance will be available on a first-come-first-served basis.
PHOTO INDEPENDENT will open with a benefit for the Colburn School, on Friday May 1 from 5-10pm. General show hours are Saturday, May 2nd from 11am-7pm and on Sunday, May 3rd from 11am-6pm. PHOTO INDEPENDENT takes place at Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90038. Onsite parking is available for a $10 fee on the Raleigh Studios lot, entrance on Van Ness Avenue, just south of Melrose Avenue.
