In its forty-third year, the internationally-recognized Kips Bay Decorator Show House, hosted by New York’s most prominent youth organization, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, will be situated at THE ARTHUR SACHS MANSION at 58 East 66th Street in New York City’s iconic Lenox Hill neighborhood, May 14-June 11, 2015. As the most highly anticipated design event of the year and the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club’s premier fundraiser, the Show House will also celebrate the non-profit’s 100 years of service to children, marking a major milestone for the acclaimed organization.

Originally built for Arthur Sachs, of investment firm Goldman Sachs in 1909 by
architects of the Gilded Age, Buchman & Fox, the mansion is situated amongst some of the most renowned architectural designs on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Constructed in the Beaux-Arts style, the five-floor, 9,600 square-foot townhouse sits across from the long-time residence of Andy Warhol, now a New York City landmark.

“We are pleased to host the Kips Bay Decorator Show House at the stunning Arthur Sachs Mansion at 58 East 66th Street for the organization’s 100th anniversary year,” said Show House Chair and celebrated interior designer Bunny Williams. “The classic Manhattan mansion will be the ideal backdrop to celebrate this milestone anniversary for the organization, showcase top talent in the interior design industry and raise much-needed funds for our city’s local youth.”

Situated between Madison and Park Avenues and just steps away from Central Park, the impressive 20-foot-wide townhouse boasts a fully restored limestone façade, five original fireplaces, a roof top outdoor kitchen and living room, planted garden and a 27-foot lap pool. This spring, the sought-after house will invite twenty two of the world’s leading interior designers to decorate the interior before opening to the public for one month beginning on Thursday, May 14.

The team responsible for restoring The Arthur Sachs Mansion at 58 E. 66th Street to its original grandeur and beauty and bringing it to the Kips Bay Decorator Show House is led by architect Henry Jessup, developer Woodbine & Co., Interior Management Inc. along with Paula Del Nunzio of Brown Harris Stevens.
