    About ART BASEL MIAMI WEEK
Spectrum Miami and RedDot Miami will celebrate Art Basel Miami Week in Wynwood Arts & Design District, with both fairs now located inside the Mana Wynwood Convention Center, offering the only “two shows under one roof” from December 4—8, 2019. Both shows covers more than 100,000 square feet of indoor exhibition space that showcase the thriving art landscape, focused on the curatorial theme „Ignite and Passion".

    CONCEPTUAL CONCEPT
About her concept the curator and Hamburg (Germany) based art historian Dr. Barbara Aust-Wegemund explains: „when we think of art exhibitions we often imagine painted artworks. But in the age of experiential contemporary art the sudden spring of technology allows new art concepts to expand into even more mediums of expression, to build bridges, passages of passion between painting, photography, (3-d) design, video, virtual reality. As we are working in long terms with our artists together, it is a pleasure to realize how they formally, materially, and conceptually further the visual vocabulary they had pioneered the last years.“

    BARBARA DEBORD
Barbara DeBord is a Florida-based photography artist, focused on exploring the elements of life in water. “Having grown up in the majestic mountains of Virginia, nature is deep in my blood,” Barbara explains. She sees the practice of photography as a way to connect to nature, a higher power, herself, and ultimately to those who view her images. “Art has the power to give us a common ground,” she states, “and I like being a part of that.” Her new series “Shadow Lights” explores how darkness and light exist side by side in nature and how we can find beauty in that balance. https://www.sanctuaryist.com/
