The American Art Fair celebrates its fifth year from November 26-29, 2012 at the Bohemian National Hall, 321 East 73rd Street, New York City and opens American Paintings Week in New York. Inaugurated in 2008, The American Art Fair is the now the only fair focusing on American 19th and 20th century works and features hundreds of landscapes, portraits, still lifes, studies, and sculpture exhibited by 17 premier specialists.

Fair participants include Adelson Galleries, Alexander Gallery, Avery Galleries, Conner • Rosenkranz, Debra Force Fine Art, Driscoll Babcock Galleries, Gavin Spanierman, Gerald Peters Gallery, Godel & Co. Fine Art, Hirschl & Adler Galleries, John H. Surovek Gallery, Jonathan Boos, Menconi & Schoelkopf, Meredith Ward Fine Art, Questroyal Fine Art, and Thomas Colville Fine Art; new in the Fair’s 5th edition is James Reinish & Associates.

Two special lectures will be presented at the Fair to coincide with American Paintings week. On Monday, November 26 at 3:00 pm, Elizabeth Kornhauser, Curator of American Paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art will discuss A Global Perspective for the Hudson River School. On Tuesday, November 27 at 4:00 p.m., the New-York Historical Society’s Henry Luce Foundation Curator of American Art Kimberly Orcutt will present Myth, Controversy, and Modern Art: Reconsidering the 1913 Armory Show.
