The Fall 2012 AVENUE Antiques, Art & Design Show at the Park Avenue Armory (September 20-24) has enlisted over 60 top dealers from across the globe to showcase a diverse range of world-class art, antiques and jewelry. In addition to the finest quality furniture and decorative arts, this year's spectacular event also places a strong emphasis on important European, American and Asian fine arts. With the first major showing and best inventory of fine art for the fall fair season, the AVENUE show offers visitors a comprehensive and versatile selection of genres, eras, and forms all under one roof.

Both seasoned collectors and aficionados alike will be intrigued as sophisticated galleries from the United States, England and France show work ranging from 19th century European paintings to 21st century photography, works on paper and digital art. An atmospheric cityscape by Victorian-era painter John Atkinson Grimshaw is as captivating as bold contemporary.

Numerous masters, including Renoir, Joan Miró, Edouard Cortes, Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh and Robert Indiana, will be represented. One of the show's highlights is an important tapestry by Miró. The piece, offered by F.L. Braswell Fine Art of Chicago, is one of 15 examples created, one of which was part of the famous Seagram art collection that went to the Christies' auction block in 2002. Comparable Miró tapestries originally hung at the entrance to the Four Seasons restaurant. Indiana's "Hope" prints designed for the 2008 Obama presidential campaign will also command attention.

Another spotlight will be on a recently discovered masterwork by British academic artist Sir Edward John Poytner, whose successful career included a post as President of the Royal Academy and an honorary degree from Cambridge. The exquisite, classically inspired painting, offered by MS Rau Antiques of New Orleans, dates from 1894 and features the heartbreaker Barine from Horace's Odes as the subject.

The fair has increased its fine art selection by attracting renowned fine art dealers, including Waterhouse & Dodd (NY, London), Martin du Louvre (Paris), Callaghan Fine Paintings and Contemporary Bronze (London) Rehs Galleries, Inc (NY), MME Fine Art (NY), Art Link International (Florida). For the first time this year, the show will include a major photography dealer: Holden Lutz Gallery of Palm Beach. Must-see programming about collecting and decorating with fine art has also been added to the schedule.

In addition the notable fine art selection, the fair still boasts a full spectrum of antiques and design: French, English and Continental furniture from the 17th century through Mid Century Modern; Fine Art from the 19th Century European to Modern and American Contemporary, works on paper; Fine Silver including English; Tiffany; Jensen; Art Deco and Italian Modernist; Russian Antiquities; Antique Enamels, Rugs and Tapestries, English and Chinese export porcelain; Majolica; Ceramics; Pottery; Sculpture; Antique Clocks; Decorative Glass; Antique, Estate and Fine Jewelry; Vintage and Contemporary Photography, Vintage Handbags; Vintage Posters, Rare Books, Manuscripts and Important Documents and more.

A glamorous Opening Night celebration on September 20 will be co-hosted by Jamie Drake and Elissa Cullman and a star-studded Interior Design Committee. In a continued effort to integrate the design community into this "shopping show," curated selections from top designers will be exhibited in the show's entrance gallery and featured in a Pinterest promotion.
