Closing reception and artists talk for “Dialogue: Representation and Abstraction”

“Dialogue: Representation and Abstraction” is the theme of the current exhibition by the Artists of Gallery One (www.galleryonect.com). This controversial juxtaposition gets a fresh airing at the Guilford Art Center Mill Gallery. There will be a closing reception on Sunday, June 30 from 2pm to 4pm, and will feature presentations by several of the exhibiting artists, including Corina Alvarezdelugo of Branford, Mary Fussell of Clinton, Suzanne Wind Gaskell of Old Lyme, and Derek Leka of Sandy Hook will speak about their work.
The exhibition features work by Gallery One members and their invited guests, a total of twenty-five artists: Alvarezdelugo, Fussell, Gaskell, Leka, and Karen Bartone, Clinton; Elizabeth Boyd, Madison; David Brown, Old Saybrook; Ashby Carlisle, Old Lyme; Catherine Christiano, Old Lyme; Leslie Concannon, Bronx, NY; Mary Fussell, Clinton; Denise Gaffney Hartz, Deep River; Gray Jacobik, Deep River; Sue Joffray, Old Lyme; Sheila Kacsmarek, Guilford; David Kintzler, Essex; Molly S. McDonald, Branford; Judith Barbour Osborne, Ivoryton; Constance Patterson, Avon; Diana Perron, Branford; Karen Green Recor, Clinton; Diana Rogers, Clinton; Chip Rutan, Old Saybrook; Hillary Seltzer, Old Saybrook; Rick Silberberg, Ivoryton; and Jill Vaughn, Ivoryton.
Gallery One is now an award-winner, having received second place in 2012 in the Shoreline Times Readers’ Poll for Best Gallery to Purchase Art.
Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm, Sunday from noon to 4pm. Over 165 works of art by the Artists of Gallery One and Friends are now on display at the Guilford Art Center, 411 Church Street in Guilford.
