Lawrence Fine Art will showcase a strong roster of mid-century and contemporary masters across genres at the upcoming Palm Springs Fine Art Fair, Valentine's Day Weekend, February 12-15. The fair is part of Modernism Week in Palm Springs.

The gallery will exhibit an early work by Abstract Expressionist painter Cleve Gray and a series of "very Motherwell" collages circa 1950 by Rolph Scarlett. The collages have never been seen before.

Also on tap are works by Pop artist Marjorie Strider, work by acclaimed contemporary sculptor Albert Paley, a "stunning" triptych by Etsuko Ichikawa, who paints with molten glass, and work by street photographer Judy Mauer.

Lawrence Fine Art will also show for the first time work by Abstract Expressionist painter Janet Mait. "Janet studied with William Scharf and Larry Poons at the Art Students League, so there is a direct line back to Mark Rothko.  Her work soars from the canvas and into your heart," said Gallery Director Howard Shapiro.

Rounding out the presentation will be work by Pop/Street artist Sen2 and work by Suzanne LaFleur, sculptor Lowell Miller and Harriette Joffe.

"We hope attendees will take the time to look at Miller's sculptures," said Shapiro.  "They are guaranteed to elicit a reaction!"

The Palm Springs Fine Art Fair is produced by the Hamptons Expo Group.  "Rick produces well-choreographed and elegant shows.  We are thrilled to participate," said Shapiro.
