The Nantucket August Antiques Show

The show is one of the most highly regarded antiques shows on the east coast, attracting collectors and enthusiasts to the forty-four distinguished exhibitors who present American and European art and antique furniture, accessories, nautical items, garden and architectural ornament, and folk art. Boston's Vose Galleries will be exhibiting a fine example of Abbot Graves (1859 – 1936) titled "A Cottage on the Cape," c. 1928, oil on canvas, 25 1/8 x 30 1/8 inches, signed lower right. It was purchased in 1928 at a Graves solo exhbition at Vose, and has descended in the same family ever since (see image above).
