In 2014, the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) will hold its 42nd Annual Conference in Washington D.C. Bringing together art information professionals from around the globe, the conference will focus on issues surrounding “Art+Politics” and take place May 1-5, 2014. Art and visual resource professionals from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East will participate in workshops and sessions around the theme “Art+Politics.” This theme acknowledges the critical role of policy-making at the local, regional, national, and international levels in identifying, documenting, and preserving cultural heritage resources. The innovative programming will provide an opportunity for conference participants to engage and collaborate, ultimately shaping the direction of and tenor of art information strategies at museums and libraries around the world. The conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt in downtown D.C.’s Penn Quarter neighborhood.
