Lisa Corinne Davis' exhibition, Abstract Infidelities, includes works created between 2009 and 2010, in which Davis continues the exploration of cultural signifiers and the roles they play in placing an individual within modern society. In paintings like "Ostensibly Certain," Davis' gridded, multilayered compositions strike a balance between abstraction and representation in which the tension between the organic and the mechanical elements are enhanced by the use of artificial color. Davis received her BFA from Pratt Institute and her MFA from Hunter College. Her work is included in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, New York; The J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles; The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Join us at the opening reception for Abstract Infidelities on Thursday, September 15th, 6pm-8pm.
