On Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 7:00pm, the Antiques Dealers’ Association of America, Inc. will present the 2015 ADA Award of Merit to David McCullough, Pulitzer Prize-Winning Author of American history at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This award recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions to the fields of American fine and decorative arts and the business of buying and selling antiques. McCullough is the fifteenth recipient of this award in the organization’s thirty-one-year history. This year’s Award of Merit recipient, David McCullough, is a celebrated historian, author, narrator, and lecturer whose passion for American history shines through both his spoken and written words. Through intensive research, he reveals the extraordinary facts behind some of the icons, movements and moments that make us who we are as Americans. His words highlight American persistence, ingenuity, and creativity. His gift is to capture the imaginations of his followers and draw them ever deeper into the behind-the-scenes events that crafted the political scenes of any given time in our country’s history. McCullough does with words what museums, collectors, and dealers do with objects—use the evidence at hand to reveal clues that collectively reveal and define who we are today. Tickets are available and open to the public for $95 per person. Seating is limited.
