Friday (April 1) at 5 p.m. a public reception marks the opening of the Milford Zornes (1908 – 2008) show in the Bingham Gallery, 220 South State Street in Mt. Carmel, Utah. The show runs through June and will feature the work of nationally renowned painter, Milford Zornes (1908 -2008). His daughter Maria Zornes Baker will be part of the celebration. Zornes was famed for his ability to bring new insights into the representation of Utah’s red rock country. For nearly thirty years he owned the Maynard Dixon property in Mt. Carmel, Utah, where he conducted art workshops in the splendor of Utah’s long valley. Over thirty paintings that span Zornes long career will be presented in the show, which is free to the public. The show is sponsored by the Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts who's goal is to further the legacy of Maynard Dixon by operating the Maynard Dixon Living History Museum, offering artist retreats at the Maynard Dixon property, providing art scholarships to Utah High School students and Art Camps for people with special needs.
