On Thursday, October 27, come celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis. From 5-8 p.m. enjoy three exceptional exhibitions and experience the newly renovated Fineberg Gallery. Raise a glass in tribute, delight at the great masterworks on view, and be part of this glorious new beginning for the Rose. The Rose celebration is free and open to the public. The Rose Art Museum opened in 1961. Within five years, it housed one of the most daring contemporary art collections at a university. The exhibition "Art at the Origin: The Early 1960s" celebrates the museum's formative period by displaying paintings, sculptures, and prints created during 1961-65. Key works by Roy Lichtenstein, Ellsworth Kelly, Claes Oldenburg, Willem de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg, and Andy Warhol.
