Frieze Masters
Frieze Masters Fair offers a contemporary lens on historical art. Exhibitor DC Moore in the Spotlight Section will present a carefully curated selection of Romare Bearden's collages and large-scale black and white Projections from 1964. Bearden's compositions are eloquent testaments to urban street life, jazz, blues, and his memories of life in the rural South. Formally, Bearden's work is rooted in Cubism and Dadaism, as well as African art, and characterized by bold fragmentation, irregular scale, and the complex layering of motifs.
