Erica Hirshler, whose curated shows at Boston's Museum of Fine Art have delighted and enlightened museum-goers over the past decade, will give a talk on the women artists of Boston at the turn of the last century and their connection to the Fenway Studios in the Back Bay. Her expertise is in American paintings of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with a special interest in women artists. _ The Studio Series is a new program of events held by Friends of Fenway Studios to help support preservation of the Fenway Studios. Each of the Studio Series Talks will be held at the Lenox Hotel, Boylston Street, Back Bay, and will be followed by a private reception at Vose Galleries. Vose Galleries will also be exhibiting a new show, Beyond A Woman's Place: Pioneers in American Art. The show will include several Fenway Studio artists Erica Hirshler will discuss in her lecture. Copies of Hirshler's new book, the critically acclaimed and highly praised Sargent's Daughters: The Biography of a Painting, an exploration of Sargent's greatest masterpiece - and Boston's most beloved painting - The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit will be available following her talk for signing. Ms. Hirshlers' talk, "Studios of Their Own: Boston Women Artists and the Fenway Studios," will be on Tuesday, April 3, at 6pm. Tickets for the talk and reception are $50.
