Robert Alexander Darrah Miller (1906-1966), known as R.A.D., isn't one of the more familiar names associated with Pennsylvania's New Hope art colony, perhaps because he wasn't an impressionist. Mentored by Daniel Garber, Miller's paintings could be categorized as modernist or realist with dark undertones.
