Bird decoy sales take off this week

The Guyette & Schmidt auction is Thursday and Friday.

Folk art and antique decoy collectors have descended upon the 45th National Antique Decoy and Sporting Collectibles Show for room-to-room trading this week at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois. The theme this year is Southern Decoys.

The resort will also host a corresponding Guyette & Schmidt auction, on Thurs. and Fri., featuring the collection of Joseph B. French. Highlights include an important merganser drake by the Dodge Decoy Factory, a stick-up Canada goose by Sam Soper, and a Canada goose carving by Elmer Crowell.
