The dining room at Philip Colleck, Ltd.

Purveyors of fine English furniture and objects, Diana and Mark Jacoby reside in a pre-Civil War period brick building on Manhattan's East 58th Street. Their personal belongings are intermingled with the inventory of Philip Colleck Ltd. on three floors, which perfectly demonstrates the couple's credo that antiques, as Diana puts it, combine a livable "beauty and comfort."

New York Social Diary photographed the exquisite interiors of the Jacoby's unique dwelling and interviewed them about the appeal of their wares.

Philip Colleck Ltd. occupies a freestanding brick building in the heart of Manhattan.

English antiques, Mark says, are "...all beautifully made, finely crafted." Diana adds, "But another thing about the English is that they can be wonderfully whimsical."
