A former art dealer was convicted on federal charges of selling a stolen landscape painting by California impressionist Granville Redmond and income tax evasion on $1.4 million made over six years ago.
Florida-based Matthew Taylor, 44, is accused of swiping the Redmond from a Los Angeles gallery along with another painting by artist Lucien Frank found in his possession.
Prosecutors dropped an additional charge that Taylor sold a cache of fake artwork by the likes of Jackson Pollock and others for around $2 million.
He faces a maximum sentence of 55 years in federal prison for the crimes.
