Major Manet Exhibition Opens at Toledo Museum of Art
- October 14, 2012 23:46
Perhaps the most important exhibition to open this fall between Chicago and the East Coast is the Toledo Museum of Art's survey of works by seminal 19th-century artist Edouard Manet.
This remarkable assemblage of 39 paintings by the French master offers a rare chance to see many of Manet's works under one roof and represents a compelling snapshot of Paris in the late 19th century.
The Toledo Museum organized the show with London's Royal Academy of Art. "Manet: Portraying Life" is on view through Jan. 1. toledomuseum.org
