Spanish octogenarian artist Celia Gimenez made a sensation last summer when she botched a restoration of a Christ fresco in her local church.
Although her intentions were good, the 80-year-old parishioner's badly rendered "Ecce Homo" ("Behold the Man") resulted in an Internet buzz with Twitter users redubbing her work "Ecce Mono" ("Behold the Monkey").
Recently, Gimenez put her own painting "Las Bodegas de Borja" ("Borja's Wine Cellar") on eBay to raise funds for a Catholic charity. The oil fetched $1,421 on Tuesday.
