Amazon Plans Online Art Gallery

Internet retailer Amazon has plans to launch an online art gallery featuring about 1,000 works from smaller dealers.
About 125 dealers have been approached, according to The Art Newspaper. An information session was held in May in New York for prospects.
The format will reportedly be similar to Amazon Wine which features around 450 winemakers.
Word is that Amazon's commissions will range from 5% to 15% of the work’s sale price. Prints, multiples and editions might be the core of the site, if it takes it off.
