Actor and comedian John Cleese will be selling another 100 paintings along with movie memorabilia from his collections exactly four years after his costly divorce from wife number three.
A California court ordered Cleese to pay £8 million in cash and assets to his third wife, psychotherapist Alyce Faye Eichelberger, plus £612,000 every year until 2016.
He hopes to raise about £450,000 for the artwork which will be offered through London art dealer Chris Beetles next month. The offerings include a large selection of works by Victorian artist Albert Goodwin, including one scene of Bristol docks, circa 1900, priced about £15,000.
In 2011, Cleese sold another 100 paintings for about £500,000. He has also parted with expensive properties from London's Notting Hill to two estates in the California beachside enclave of Montecito.
