Willem de Kooning Foundation to Sell 10 Works

The Willem de Kooning Foundation is hoping to raise over $30 million for research and scholarships through the sale of ten works by the pivotal Abstract Expressionist. “Willem de Kooning: Ten Paintings, 1983-1985" will be mounted at the Gagosian Gallery from November 8 to December 21, 2013.
An endowment for education, work with the Long Island Children’s Museum, and a team of researchers to assemble the artist's catalogue raisonne are some of the foundation's funding outlets for the sale's proceeds.
