Getty Opens Up More Free Content from Special Collections

The Getty began offering a vast trove of images of works from its collection online to the public two months ago. Now the institution says it will double the amount of artworks available to over 10,000 total. Paintings by the likes of Monet and van Gogh are now joined with items from the Getty Research Institute’s Special Collections.
High-resolution images are viewable at Getty's website, and can be downloaded for free with proper credit.
Getty says that opening up the new content will aid art historians in search of information. More pieces will be added soon.
