Matt Damon and George Clooney star in "The Monuments Men."

Director, co-writer and star of the new movie "The Monuments Men," George Clooney spins a fascinating tale about saving art from Nazis during the chaos of World War II. A just-released trailer for the film shows the drama behind this real-life story. Originally scheduled to be released in December, which would have made it a certain Oscar contender, "The Monuments Men" has been pushed to a Febraury 7 opening.

Clooney stars along with Matt Damon, John Goodman, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, and Cate Blanchett as art experts charged with recovering and safeguarding art in Europe from the clutches of Nazis.

The movie is based on the book "The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History" by Robert M. Edsel.
